I am looking for a dependable carry that I can keep in my Truck and another in the nightstand. Want small, light but will through a descent beam. Can I get a good LED for under $100??

I carry a Fenix L2T on my belt, and a Fenix L1T in my shirt pocket at work.
The L2T runs on 2 AA. Use NimHi's in it. They seem to work longer. It is a great little light with a high and low power position. The high has good throw and the low is good when you want less light. You can get two of them for under 100. at www.lighthound.com .

The new Fenix L2D with orange peel reflector looks light an even better light. Six output levels!!

Why do you need small for that use ? Anyway take a look at Pelican 3330.

Not a retina-burner, but a good practical light.

Saw THIS at Wal-Mart for about $25.

Or...

A STREAMLIGHT ProPolymer 4AA Luxeon LED Division 2 (best price $25 HERE) is a little bigger than the aluminum Ray-o-Vac I listed above, but is a VERY good light. 4 AAs, regulated, water-proof - you'll love it.

+1 for Fenix (I like the CREEs) from Lighthound. Great lights, good prices and excellent service.

I like inovas. The X5 can be had for thirty bucks and its 5LED pattern is pretty slick. It has won modern design awards. It also runs for 20hours on 2 CR123s.

You can find this at target.

They also have a new rechargable T4 that has 125 lumens(2007 model). It can project a beam 300ft. It comes with a car and home charger for around 90 dollars. It is a serious light.

Check Ebay for this one.

Take a look at the Rock river or the Dorcy lights at Target. They are reliable and cheap. Not the best in the world but a great buy for the money.
