I need a good knife that i can keep in my pocket along with my cellphone and key's and all that other garbage. I was considering the LST from gerber and i read here that it's a good knife. But i was wondering if gerber made a cheap single handed opening knife. I saw the lstII. IS this knife as good as the original LST or no? Just looking for opinions. The one handed option isn't that important. I just want a good knife for carrying around every day.

Can i get an lst at walmart?

It's Gerber, with a "g". And yes, that would be an ok knife, BUT a FRN plain-edge Spyderco Delica would be alot "better"...:).

Yeah if i had 60 dollars laying around i might but i don't. Plus this is gonna be a first knife.

By the way what is a drop point? And does walmart sell them?

I've got to 2nd Glockman, save up a little more money before you buy. Unless you need a knife "right now", but you'll be a lot happier with the Spyderco (or you could follow me to the Benchmade camp, and get a Mini-Griptilian... ;)) If you've got a CC, online dealer's cannot be beat. I've got good results with Knifecenter.com and great results with NewGraham.com FWIW.

Regards,

Shaun.

Wal Mart should have the LST. You should also take a look at the Swiss Army Knives (SAK). The Sparten or Tinker model would make a great first knife too.

I third the Delica. It's just alot better bang for the buck. And it can be found for a little over $40 dollars online.

Forgot that! Definately go with a plain edge on the Delica if you decide to go for it.

The Spyderco Delica comes up a lot in this type of thread. It's just one of those knives that screams quality and value. If you are set on a lock blade, the Delica is a much better knife than the LST.
I've owned both and would take the Delica.
