Looking for a "good enough" air filter for the house... mostly pets.

I've a a dog and cat, and I seem to get a lot of dust in the house.
So, I'm looking for a good air filter that has a good air flow, and will catch large dust particles (not really worried about catching microviruses and stuff), just dust, dander and other stuff so my shelves don't get dusty nearly as fast. I don't need anything fancy or gimmicky (no ion filters... please!) Just something simple and effective.
