Looking for a good knife made in Finland.

The peltonen knives are GREAT. Durable, lightweight, easy maintenance, cut really well

Jelio...Made in Bulgaria but still one of the best puukko makers-

Marttiini knives are made in Finland and are a great value. I’ve got their discontinued mini-chopper and it’s one of my favorite kitchen knives…
I was looking at their fixed blade mushroom knife earlier today!

A little more expensive but Roselli make great knives. I have 2 the Hunter in UHC and the large Leuku in W75 iirc. Heat treat is excellent on both with his W75 (basic carbon) punching well above its weight.

I've a number of Finnish blades and the Rosellis are imo the cream of the crop with regards to non custom.

Terava/Varusteleka are great on the lower end who use blades made by Laurin Metalli.

The knives are SAKs but the designs are Finnish, you should get yourself a Teemu Jarvi SAK to go with your new Puukko.

Or a Moomin one, Moomin is an old school Finnish cartoon/book series.

These simple designs on white are not only very elegant, but they are very wear resistant compared to the typical SAK cellidor designs, because if you take that pink donut SAK and drag it down gravel, it will scratch to white. Most of the surface here IS white. My favorite scale next to my G10 and nylon.

As you can see, there is no shortage of great Finnish knives. If you want to make a cultural statement, find a traditional puukko you like. Marttiini has some that are pretty accessible, but there are a lot of makers. For utility and camping, it is hard to beat the JP Peltonen sissipuukkos or the Jääkkäripuukkos from Varusteleka. If there is a single knife you absolutely do not want to be without, the Varusteleka Skrama, for everything from camping, to survival, to zombies.

Fixed blade Puukko comes to mind, hard part will be deciding which maker to go with. I think a traditional build with antler or birch bark would be pretty cool. Good luck, hope you post what you decide to go with!
edit: added the puukko thread as well
