L am looking if anyone knows a good knife magazine to order.I know that there are alot out there.

Welcome Szarka!

We just did this last week. This is what is posted in that thread:

There are four major publications in the USA.

Blade magazine, sort of an all purpose magazine. Probably the most popular of the bunch:

Knives Illustrated, a little more sophisticated than Blade. Do a web search, a number of magazine retailers are providing cut rate subscriptions: http://fs2.freeshop.com/pg004289.htm

Knife World, a newspaper format (black and white) magazine. Covers customs and antique knives and knife history. Free 90 day subscription available over the web

And Tactical Knives. Not my favorite, but it is for a lot of folks.

Happy reading!

You may find that it is better to see what is in the issue before buying. Thats what I have been doing. Sometimes I bought blade, sometimes Tactical Knives and sometimes Knives Illustrated. Ever since Steven Dick left Knives Illustrated it hasn't been a sgood IMO, so I haven't bought another issue yet. Lately Tactical Knives has been greatm with lots of articles on practical users, both for "tactical" needs and chores around the house.

If I had to pick one I'd pick Tactical Knives, as you get regular columns on sharpening, steel and the Jeff Randall column (Jeff posts here a lot, he seems to know a thing or two about wilderness survival and appropriate blades for the tasks!)

Steven Dick is supposedly putting together a new magazine, which I can't wait for.

Just for the record, I was never on the Knives Illustrated masthead and I'm not putting together a new magazine. I think you mean Bud Lang.
Glad you like TK. We work hard at putting out a top of the line magazine.

Hi Szarka,
Welcome to the forums. I agree with the others that Tactical Knives is the best of the lot right now. If you're interested in any old issues, check out my post on the Trading Post. I see you're from the Bronx, man, do I miss it!

Crayola, stop breathing that titanium dust, Steve Dick has never been at Knives Illustrated, that was Bud Lang.
