Hey guys. Im looking for a knife for my girlfriend, it needs to be small(under 4" OAL while closed). Would like stainless blade. What would you guys reccomend? Price range Under $50 USD. Thanks!

Rainbow Leek or Chive by Kershaw sounds nice to me. It's pushing $50, but it's purty. :)

I got my gal a Leek. ;)

Have you considered a Leatherman Squirt? My wife carries a S4 model (with scissors, pliers are an option too.) and uses it often. It also has a small, but perfectly serviceable, knife blade.

Under $50, under 4" OAL...How about a Cold Steel medium plain-edge clip-point Voyager?

I would recommend the Spyderco SS Cricket. My wife carries one in PE and she absolutely loves it.....ALOT of cutting power in a little blade. ;)

Good Luck.

Lots of neckers in that range, they can still be carried in the purse.

I think that CRKT makes a version of Kit Carsons little necker, it's a cute little thing, and very practical.

If slipjoints are ok, my wife really likes the abalone scaled camillus half congress knife. It is an attractive knife and no one gets snippy about it at work.

I agree with the Calypso Jr recommendation. Great slicer, great ergonomics. The little Kershaw onions are also good.

Take a good look at the Spyderco Navigator. They can be found on Ebay for under $40 easy. The Benchmade Benchmite is another good chioce but it is closer to $60 than $50.

Calypso, Jr. by Spyderco can be found online for $39-43 and Medium Trailguide by Cold Steel for $18-23 are fully flat-ground folders in your price range.

Schrade makes a sweet clip point slipjoint in 1095 you can buy for $10 at Wal-Mart if locks aren't needed.

Steve-O's idea about neckers is good, too. For under $50, there's also the Becker Necker as well as some great CRKT neckers.

For just slightly more a BM Mini-Grip...damn good folder...

or a Kershaw Leek...got that for my wife and she loves showing it off to people...it's a nice solid folder for the money...

Another spydie suggestion...

SS PE Dragonfly.

I've had mine since aug 20, 01, had a neck rig since the first week of january 03. I've been wearing 24/7 in a neck rig(95% of the time under my shirt), even the ppl that see it out of my shirt when I'm out and about don't say anything. And thats 24/7 100%, even shower most of the time. Just a pain to dry out every time.

Factory price is 63usd, means online should run around 40usd.

edit: even if you have big hands, don't worry. I can fully palm the open knife, and I still use it. I've got what can only be called ape-mitts.

I bought my wife a Kershaw Chive (rainbow), and she was hesitant to carry a knife at first but since has really come to enjoy having it as an edc.

I would go for one of the stainless handled Spydercos. You can have something engraved on the handles.

Kershaw Rainbow Leek
Kershaw red Aluminum Scallion
Spyderco Meerkat
Spyderco Salsa

Good luck,
Allen.
