I was wondering if there were a couple recommended waxes or oils that you like to use to protect your knife blades.

I have a couple knives I would like to keep protected, both in use, and storage.

One in particular, is a Satin finish Ranger RD9 I have on the way.

Thanks

I have heard of those before but I was thinking they were mainly for cleaning and polishing.

So, the "rag" is reusable? till it dries out?
If I store it in a ziplock, how long do you think it will be good for?

They do work for polishing but I use mine mainly for rust/corrosion protection. I would venture to say that most people use them primarily for protection against rust/corrosion. They also provide some lubrication.

The rag is designed to be re-useable. It comes in a ziplock pouch. If it dries out it can be "re-charged" with mineral spirits or the TUF-GLIDE liquid. I generally use mine for at least 6 months before adding a re-charge.
