Looking for a good zero tolerance knife

So lately zero tolerance has been catching my eye. They look like good knives. I just havnt bougt one yet, im so deep into my spyderco collection that im scared zero tolerance may pull me in like spyderco did. Most of the zt knives ive seen here on bf have been 3.5 inch blades plus. Are there any good ones out there with a 3 inch blade? Looking to maybe buy a somewhat "lower end one" to try like i did with my first spyderco which was a tenaciouse. If there are evan any cheaper zt in production i would appreciate some suggestions. Thanks.

For "lower end" ZT's, I would take a look at the 0566, 0770 (there's also the CF version), 0200, or the 0350. All of which have over 3" blades, but are very nice examples of a ZT.

The 566 and 0770 are pretty much the smallest it gets with ZT right now, check them out

Everyone is right the 566 and 770 are pretty much as small as you can get. I still would not overlook the 0350! Still to me one of the most affordable and best EDC knives out there considering what you get! All are great though! Good luck Kyle with going down the Rabbit hole, almost impossible not to get sucked in!

There are no bad ZT knives only better and better. I suggest the 0566 Hinderer. It seems to be the perfect size fir ab EDC.

I have a 560 and I love it, but it's a gigantor.

If you want something a little smaller, closer to 3", try the 550. I think coming from mostly Spydercos, the 550 would seem pretty familiar.

Unfortunately, there are no ZT folders with a blade length of 3 inches. ZT 0350, 0360, 0566, 0770 and 0770CF all have a blade length of 3.25 inches and they're the smallest current ZT folders.

Just picked up a 0780 and is surprised me how small and light it is. I have about every regular production ZT made and it just doesnt seem like a ZT.

Try the 0566! De-assist and clean it out. Then use it like you stole it! You'll thank me later.

ZT0560 and 301..............consequently, I will have both for sale soon!

You need to quit advertising that lest you risk an infraction. You want to sell here, you need to have a paid membership to do so, and in that case no sales are allowed outside the exchange.

I think I'm probably like you, if not worse. for me a 3.5+ inch blade is a gigantor, and they just won't make it in my pocket. with spyderco blades I started with the tenacious as well, but that's long gone for smaller versions.

if it helps you know where I'm at, size-wise my spydercos that are in the regular rotation are the ambitious, persistence (both with deep carry clip mods), techno, sage, and chaparral. that's where I tend to run, right about a 3 inch blade. small sebenzas, benchmade mini-grips, Kershaw cryos, all about that same 3 inch blade....

I've handled quite a few ZTs, and they are awesome blades. but most are too big for me to carry in the pocket day-to-day (office work). not grip/fit-wise (I'm 6'4" 260), just personal preference for day to day pocketknife size. I like them, but I'd never carry them. If I want a knife bigger than that 3"-3.5" range, it's because I'm in the woods or in the kitchen, and i go fixed blades both those places.

so with that long preface - the ZTs I have for keeps are the 0550 (2nd gen deep carry clip), the 0350, and the 0566. All with custom scales because I'm a prima donna like that. The 0566 is the heaviest in weight, but the smallest overall profile of the three - and that's the ZT that gets put in my pocket the most. not at work but around the house, jeans days, garage/shop, etc. I recently bought one of the new 0770 CF blades also, but I sent it right back. very lightweight, same size as the others, but that hump in the middle of the handle was uncomfortable for me (though others love it). I haven't held any of the others mentioned above that trend more tanto-esque for blade shape, just not my thing, so I'm no help there.

have fun picking, you're going to end up with a bunch of them, just like your spydercos :)

Im trying to decide between the 0350 and the 0566. Both look great hard decision.

Do you have a preference for frame or liner lock? Assisted or manual? You can de-assist the 0566 and that's a plus for some.

Also, do you prefer recurves or standard drop points? Serrations? How large are your hands? There's a lot to consider that may help narrow down your choice. Ultimately, go with your gut! You won't be disappointed!

Just bought a 0566 here off of bf. comes de assisted already but still comes with lockbar which is good. Hopefully i like it, i usually only carry 3 inch blades or smaller, so hopefully this one wont be too big for me.
