Looking for a high quality Karambit that isn't just some joke for show.

I want to get a Karambit and I don't want some peice of garbage that has a nice exterior but is soft and not practical for use in any situation. Something that takes an edge and keeps it.

Here is what I would highly prefer it to look like:

Mainly this one: http://images.knifecenter.com/thumb/1500x1500/knifecenter/united/images/UC2786nw.jpg

And then this one or similar shape if option one is not an option: http://www.coldsteel.com/images/products/92FK_m.jpg

Just something along those lines in terms of aesthetics.

But I really want this thing to be good quality, not brittle or soft, reliable, etc. Price isn't to big of an issue since I tend to want the real thing and am willing to pay the price. If you need more parameters or need some more advice just ask on this thread and I will respond in a reply.

Thanks for your help

Sorry, totally forgot. I would like the blade to be double sided. And when I mean not shitty or low quality I mean that the handle isn't made out of cheap material, or at least is decent and it is ergonomically designed to fit the hand, and that the blade is made of high quality metal.

Thanks. Also for the link I understand they didn't work properly but that's most likely my human error. Just copy the link and search it from your search bar. Should work.

Not keen on fixed karambits but I know of two high quality folders.
I have an Emerson Combat Karambit and it's great. G-10 scales, full Ti liners, and 154CM blade steel. Has the patented Emerson wave so it opens upon removal from the pocket.
Spyderco Karahawk. Also features the Emerson wave.

You're gonna have to go custom probably. There aren't a lot of fixed blade production karambits, especially ones of that size and design(and in regards to those, the Cold Steel is about as good as you'll get). Would a smaller design work? Traditional Filipino Weapons sells one, but the blade is only 3.5 inches I believe, same with the Ontario Ranger Karambit:

Other than it not having two sharpened edges, why not the Cold Steel "Steel Tiger?" In a purely self defense knife, steel isn't really a big factor in my opinion. Edge holding is unimportant because a self defense knife is only meant to be used in self defense, not daily edc use that would wear down the edge. Humans are mostly made up of soft flesh (and bones obviously, but you probably won't be cutting through those anyways unless you're using a sword). That's why AUS-8 is a perfectly fine steel for a self defense knife, human flesh won't dull your edge unless you're slaughtering hundreds of people in a row lol. If you want your knife to serve other capabilities than I can understand wanting a nice steel.

The Steel Tiger would be my first choice (I've actually never owned or been interested in kerambits). Most Kerambits look pretty awful as far as ergonomics, but the Steel Tiger appears to have great ergonomics just going off the pictures. I can also attest to their handle materials being comfortable and offer plenty of grip.

Just my two cents.

bastinelli creations makes some gnarly fixe karambits.

im about to receive a fox 479 karambit, theyre supposed to be pretty damn sweet.

Check out the TOPS scorpion tail also...

I own the Cold Steel Tiger Karambit myself. I too have found myself wishing to have it double edge and make use of all of those neat little techniques that the Silat players use.

I had to wait a long time, but I finally got my hands on the Laci Szabo Atomic Karambit. It is 5160 and double edge. Just by looking at the profile of the blade, you will see it's obvious advantages over the geometry of the Cold Steel. It is one piece of tough steel and does those Silat drills just fine. The metal is milled so well, that it doesn't even need scales.

Another vote for Laci Szabo. Here is the Filipino Boxcutter model...

It is smaller and straighter than the Atomic Kerambit. There is another Atomic Kerambit model as well, with a longer handle and a shorter blade. All of these would be excellent choices, but you will wait a while to get one.
