I'm looking for a very well built & durable horizontal sheath for big folders ie. buck strider, extra large cold steel voyager, cuda max.

Will the maxexpedition horizontal sheath accomodate the big folders?

Not sure but I can give you contact info a for a guy in Canada that can make you one. He is also a custom knife maker.

Gary Graley makes a nice horizontal sheath. I have one for my PCKS Buck 110.

IMHO it doesn't get more well built and durable than SOE belt pouches. I've only been able to find both of them at TAD (other than direct from SOE). The Buck/Strider should fit in the regular folder/tool pouch. Those larger folders will probably fit in the AR/GB pouch, since they're thinner and the pouch is has some adjustability. Drop them an email; they also sell Buck/Striders and Maxpedition so they could try it out.

I remember reading somewhere that a leather carrier for a 1911 single-stack magazine will fit a CUDA Maxx. For leather I'd get a custom sheath, though.

I've read on a thread that the maxexpedition is better constructed, thicker material than a SOE.

Will the maxexpedition horizontal sheath accomodate mega folders?

Leatherman (Dwayne) made a very nice and strong horizontal sheath for my TOPS strikar! I will strongly recomand him, his prices are great and his work very professional!
