How does one go about landing a job with a knife company? I am looking for a career change and I believe the knife industry is it. After taking 8 years off from school to pursue a law enforcement career I decided to make a change. I started back to school and finish my degree in 3 months. I want to find employment with a knife company but would like to find out how to go about it. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest sending them a resume', and see what happens. I do know Benchmade posts jobs they have available. Just check their homepage for the link.

Good Luck.

Go for it Dennis! That is awesome! I'm just curious about what you would want to do for a knife company. Would you want to come up with new designs, or grind blades, or watch an assembly line...?

Some people wanna be doctors, some people wanna be singers, but some people like us just wanna be knife knuts... and get paid for it to boot!

Good luck on your quest

Wow! What a surprise!

Sure hope you don't give up your selling business also.

I'll write you, tho it may be after the weekend. Looks suddenly like have to take daughter to soccer tournament in Yakima. Not looking forward to that at all. Thought my wife was going.

Dennis,

A lot of knife manufacturers have a "job opportunities" section on their web sites.

Probably the best thing to do is call several companies and see what they look for (qualifications, experience, etc. . .) when they are in the market of hiring someone.
