I had a knife in the mid-70's that I am looking find an example. Let me describe it:
Fixed blade. It came in both a double edged and single edge. 6-8" blade. 440C if I remember correctly.
It had a flattened steel ball for a hilt.
The handle was a hollow knurled(?) aluminum tube.
The end of the tube unscrewed and you could pull out rubber fins.
The guys selling it demonstrated that it could be thrown longer distances easily with an underhanded spiral.
It was stolen from my car when it was in the shop.
I am not looking to get my old knife back. I am looking to just find an example in either style. I would be please if I could find someone that even remembers them. I bought it at a home show, or car show, or gun show in Houston TX in about 1975. It was not a custom knife, but a production knife. It was sold just like you see those guys selling Sham Wows. or Ginsu knives. They travelled around the country at shows.
Does anybody remember these? I thought I would try here as it is one of the largest forums for knife enthusiasts around. Maybe someone knows the manufacturer. I looked at the US patent site. That was no help. A Google search was no help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
