This question is more for guys with 7-8 or more CRK's. I'm asking about 8 or more bc a lot of guys with several have 'enough' and may be looking for a special CRK.

When you're looking for a knife fs on the production forums are you looking for another CRK or something discontinued or unusual ? Or just browsing.

I have several. I'm not looking for anything except a large regular in BG 42.

Guys with only a few, let's hear from you too.

I quickly found out that the best way to buy CRK's (IMO) is on the exchange. I have found some truly great deals and have missed out on a lot of great deals too. A few times per day I'll check out the listings to check for deals.

I look for my birthdate. So far I have never seen one in any photo (for sale or otherwise).

Some day I will order something special from Chris and request the date, I guess.

I don't look for a knife, I look for a knife from a production period. My thing is inlaid 21s from the 08-11 period that have plain backs.

I'm always looking for CRK that will stop me and say I need to have that knife for my collection. Also being a lefty, I'm trying to increase my collection in the LH models. I've got my CRK grails and am content with my current collection.

I check it fairly frequently when I have the opportunity and I remember to. I generally only look at listings for knives that are on my want list. I suppose that if I did see something being offered for a screaming deal, that I absolutely knew I could flip for a profit, then I might buy it just because it's discontinued/rare/whatever. But, I have yet to see such a blatant deal.

I don't have too much interest in getting doubles, at least not without reason. I'm on the lookout for a good deal on a Large Insingo, an old pivot no-lbs Startac, and maybe a Mnandi that strikes my fancy. I suppose if I saw a good deal on a Small Regular BG42 then I might consider it.

I personally look for older Mnandis with exceptional inlays and/or damascus. I used to look at new models as well, but don't care for the changes that CRK made to the Mnandi.

I've had 20 or more over the years, probably 12-13 at one time. I don't look for anything specific. I'm just browsing when I look. If I see something interesting, I try to get it. This is true for any brand, not just CRKs.

.. are you looking for another CRK or something discontinued or unusual ? Or just browsing...

not specifically, yes, and yes :) . I meander through the classified ads simply because I like knives and enjoy watching the ebb and flow of the aftermarket. I certainly have "enough" but there are still specific additions to my CRK collection that I'm always searching for; however, as those rarely appear nowadays I still browse the general listings as a matter of casual interest. It's fun.

I usually only open the threads with a Large Plain Regular, Large Plain Classic, or Large and Small Micarta Classics.

My buying habits have changed over the years. For a LONG time I was glued to the FS pages. I had extra $$ and was working lots of OT, so had funds to buy. And for those that know me, I am pretty much 95% CRK with only a few scattered here and there from other makers........Lately, I have not had as much funding, so I honestly have just stayed away from the FS page ( I am sure a joy to many......lol )........I bought several over a short period of time for special reasons early this year hitting the 100th CRK. Haven't bought any since.

I do check out the FS threads several times a week, but not glued there anymore. When I do browse though, I just look for CRK. Thats IT. I really have no interest in other makers save for 2-3 other than CRK. This is why for me personally, a CRK For Sale page would benefit me because thats ALL I want. I dont wanna see countless threads of other brands I have ZERO interest in.

If I am looking for something in particular, I am on an all out blitz until I find it though :-) I am at the point where I have a bunch of em, so I am just enjoying them.

I usually look for old and discontinued stuff unless something pretty catches my eye. This is just because I like the older CRK better. I feel I have enough for now anyway, prices of what I like are just going through the roof and I am not a fan of the direction the company is taking.

Older discontinued stuff, and other than that if it speaks to me I pick it up.

No real rhyme or reason.
