Good morning everyone,

My current knife collection mostly consists of Benchmade Doug Ritter Griptilians and Emerson Cqc-7's. im not the most knowledgeable when it comes to knives, but i have been looking for a certain type of knife that im having a hard time of finding.

Here is my criteria:

- preferably under 3" to obey state laws. (if its a little larger, i might consider for my outdoor activities)
- g10 Scales
- liner lock
- Hard use
- Thumb Stud opening
- no recurve blade
- drop point (spear) blade style only
- price range up to $250

I know this sounds like im describing the CQC7, but i have a bunch of those and looking to move onto another knife with similar specs. I like the simplicity of the Emerson design. Thats why i have so many of them, but now looking to see if i can find something else.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Could you define what hard use means to you? By selecting the liner lock as the lock of choice, I'm not sure I could recommend much in that side range, depending on your response to the question.

well, my last cqc7 i used through 2 house remodelings. i used that for everything other than heavy prying. i think i cut over 300 feet of rough carpet with that knife. there was not a hint of the black coating on the blade left.

I think kizer has a few decent models in there then as it sounds more like you want a comfy handle than something that you want to abuse. The begleiter is one that I really liked as an EDC, but the handle would probably be rough on that much carpet. The vigor would probably do it better. the kizer vanguard hunter is one I'm less familiar with but looks good too.

The enzo birk seems like a solid choice that barman mentioned, with the exception of the straight back blade.

The al-mar mini sere might do it, but I think they're priced too high for the materials used.

I think giving in on one of your requirements will give more options, like having back locks or a different blade shape, but I can appreciate the specificity of your request as you know what you like.
