New here, Just joined. I have been looking around the forums here and seems to be a great site.

Anyway, I have been looking for a particular knife and am having a very hard time finding one.
It is a Parker Edwards Damascus blade bowie style knife. Made in 1986.
Here is a link to a picture of it.

If anyone has a lead on where I could find one I would appreciate it.

Nate

Ah...why do you want one of those? The quality of that knife is not very good.

I found it a few weeks ago while searching for a knife. I did not realize it was a low quality. Seemed pretty good to me. Looked to be a nice damascus blade, but i am pretty new to knives.
Could you suggest a decent bowie to get?
It will have mulitple uses, camping, collection, hunting, and whatever else I decide to use it for.

Thanks,
Nate

dont let the name fool you ,parker has sold good knives and fain edwards damascus aint too shabby.

While not a fan of hollow-handled survival knives, the only one I would ever consider would be the Reeves because it is made from a single bar of steel and not simply a blade soldered onto a hollow pipe-handle.

May i suggest SOG? They have forum here in the Manufacturer section...or here http://www.sogknives.com/store/index.html.

Also RAT cutlery, busse (expensive), ka-bar, buck (real classic)..mmm .Muela? ARRRR... when you want to make a list the options that come to mind are always less then the number of the fingers on one hand...Don't you hate this? :-)))

Wait!! One more - Linder:-)

Welcome to the forums Nate. I tried a few searches, couldn't find anything for ya. Hope ya find it.

Kabar (full size), Cold Steel, Ranger RD6, Fallkniven A1, RAT cutlery, among others.

There are many excellent production bowies and there are many custom knifemakers , some of whom post regularly in the "Makers" subforum here. Look around a little and see if you see anything you like.
