So since Christmas is coming up soon i need gift ideas to tell my family. Im thinking a nice knife that i can keep and cherish forever. What is a really nice knife for around 75 to 110 dollars?

Probably you ought to be just a LITTLE more specific. What kind of knife? Fixed or folder? Traditional or tactical? Etc. etc.

oh good point. Im looking for a folder, more traditional, something that will last long, not necessarily for heavy use.

Although I like most kinds, of knives, I think that nothing beats a quality traditional slipjoint for a classy, heirloom knife that can also be put to good use. My personal favorites are from Great Eastern Cutlery.

Check out the Traditional subforum here under the "specific" section.

Yep -- Mike and Annie are great.

Many of us here are quite familiar with NGK!

i'll second the custom shop buck 110 idea. traditional styling but you can get a more modern steel and or handle material if you'd prefer.

so when you guys say "custom shop" buck 110, you mean just a customized buck or is that a name for a specific knife?

its just a customized 110. if you go to bucks website, you click on "custom shop" and follow the prompts. it'll direct you to choose a fixed blade pattern or folding blade. the folding blade is a 110. form ther, you choose your bolster material, handle material and blade steel. and, theres a wide variety of prices and within your price range, you could make a pretty nice one.
