I'm looking for a good large corrosion resistant, probably stainless steel, knife that won't bust the bank, I'd like a Bowie knife like it but I find I'm terrible at selecting them large stainless knives like that. I also need one that won't break the bank but can also put up with hard work, its for marine use and the long canoe trips and such where I find one is easier have and use. I got the smaller knives covered but a big one like a bowie would be a great addition.

Not sure what you consider to be busting the bank but I've been eyeing the cold steel marauder myself for quite some time now. Seems to fit your criteria pretty well and may be what you're looking for.

I have been looking hard at that one as one of the top candidates so far for now, thanks for the recommendation I busted to many cheap big knives recently and have been getting real replacement ones this time. I got the big carbon steel blades covered this month just now, just need a stainless now or corrosion resistant one.

Not cheap, but the Fallkniven A1 would be great. Or even A2. A pity funds are an issue, the Northern Lights series are more traditional looking and are great quality.

Thanks guys, I ordered the Cold Steel Marauder off of amazon for under $72 as it seems to fit what I need it for, its not the best or perfect but I was looking for some thing goodly decent. I want a knife that can do big knife things, I can see its limitations and some reviews pointed it out, but for me it should work well. Eh if it breaks, them that is the breaks and I'll have to get a better one. I don't just take one knife with me on trips. I think this is going to be a perfect carry knife. Important if the canoe tips over and the packs ain't lashed good. I feel this is one of the knives I'd better have if it was just one that was left. And I won't cry if it does get lost if the canoe goes over. Just feel hurt a bit.
