Hello folks. Looking for some insight. I have a gso 4.1 that I've had for awhile. I like it well enough, but I seem to always grab my bk16 instead. I can't really explain why, maybe just sentimentality or habit. The question is, should I sell my 4.1 to try and fund the purchase of a 4.7 or 5.1?
I figure that if I had something that isn't nearly the exact same size/length as my bk16 I might be more inclined to change it up. I don't really like choils and I tend not to prefer larger blades. So I'm not sure if I would have as much of an affinity for the next size up from the 4.1.

Tough question! Interesting comparison between the two knives you mentioned. I was into beckers before I found SURVIVE! and I remember being infatuated with the elusive saber ground bk16. When I first saw the GSO 4.1 I was in love.

But enough about me :)

I borrowed the below pic from our very own Standard. Does it help size them up at all?

Do you like the handle on your BK16? If you prefer the smaller handle of the 16 (vs the 4.1), and you like smaller knives, maybe try a 3.5. It's going to be easier to pick up a 4.7 soon, though, than trying to land a current 3.5. I've got one 3.5 and would love to have another.

I'm worried the 4.7 will still be too similar in size...

Here are some comparison shots of 4.7 & BK16 - the 4.7 is a bigger and beefier blade. If you don't have a need for the extra strength (and steel) afforded by the 4.7, then you might not prefer it. However, the NEW 4.1 is soon to be out... I too was not as much of a fan of the previous GSO-4.1 and think you can get by just fine with a BK16 (provided you don't feel the need to upgrade to micarta scales and a better sheath), but this new 4.1 coming out (in Delta-3V no less) has different handle ergos than the older version and may leave the BK16 sitting on the chopping block... but to each his own:
