Looking for a new 3" folder with G10 scales

Hi All,

I would think that this would be easy to find, but I'm having issues. The closest thing I can find to what I'm looking for is the Emerson Traveler SF, but I don't really want the "wave" feature. A strider PT would be close as well, but I'm looking for a longer cutting edge.

1. Just about a 3" blade length. A little more is good but less than 3.4"
2. Liner or Frame lock.
3. G10 or another composite material for the handle scales (at least the non-locking side in the case of a framelock)
4. Preferably full flat ground.
5. S30V or equivalent blade steel
6. Budget of ~$200 (but a hard limit would be $400)

I want a blade that's a bit bigger (width wise) than the benchmade 710, but smaller than pretty much all of the spyderco blades. I've scoured both the benchmade and spyderco websites and nothing that they're offering is what I'm looking for. The benchmade 707 is close, but I'd like to avoid the aluminum. I'm not super familiar with brands outside of Benchmade\Spyderco\Strider\Emerson, so suggestions outside of those brands are most welcome.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Maybe the Al Mar Nomad? VG-10 blade steel, almost FFG blade and within your budget of around $200.

Mini Sere? Or DPX Hest, if you consider D2 an equivalent.. They are both considered premium steels, but perform differently, so it depends on what you are looking for exactly.

Also I recommend the BM 707 Sequel, if you can overlook the axis lock

I've never really looked at Al Mar's offerings, but their knives look exactly like what I'm looking for. I'll definitely look into those. Thanks a ton!

From what you've said you may have already moved past it, but the Spyderco Perrin PPT night work for you.

since you mentioned emerson....
mini A-100, mini CQC-7, or CQC-7

bradley alias 2 you might also want to consider.

doug ritter mini grip, or 3" bone collector.

Another vote for the ppt. It's a freaking awesome knife and i can't put it down.

I took it to my fine sharpmaker stones and stropped it and i can now say that it is a lightsaber, At least until my brother decided to cut up a bunch of denim jeans with it. It's still pretty sharp though, That s30v is pretty good stuff.

Benchmade Mini Dejavoo. S30V and a flat grind. I have one, and it's one of my favorites....

DBAR

maybe one of these?
