Got a budget in mind?
Production or custom?

Love my Esee 4, you might want to try one.

If you want something that is "made in the USA" Usamadeblade.com carries both production and custom (Fiddle Back forge, Dogwood Customs, and Fletcher Knives). Whitty is also a good guy to do business with and has been a great support of the knife community.

I've really come to love my Koster Bushcrafter with a full flat ground blade. I like it more than the scandi style for all-wround cutting tasks. 3V steel is great.

I often Carry an ESEE 3 Mil with the clip point option. Absolutely the best hard-use fixed blade for the price or a much higher price IMO. Pair it up with a KSF Sharpshooter leather sheath and you have an awesome combination!

Entrek makes a few 4" bladed fixed-blades. Made in the USA. I've owned and used an Entrek Cobra (4" blade) for several years and it's one of my favorite fixed-blades. 3/16ths of an inch thick blade, full tang, micarta handles, and a great little knife.

The Swamp Rat Rodent 4 or an ESEE 4 would both be solid choices and both come backed by some of the best warranties in the business.

The question here is budget! I highly recommend the same things mentioned already. ESEE 3 or 4, Blind Horse Knives, or go custom with a Dogwood, Fletcher Knife or Fiddleback!

Check out JK Knives. John has a forum here and can make you a great knife. Your design or his.... :D
