Good evening! So I'm looking to treat myself with a new benchmade. I've had a mini griptilian. Full size sheep's foot griptilian and a Contego. I've had my eye on the 808 loco, Crooked River. Barrage tanto and Osborne clip point. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the input.

Another Griptilian! Just make this one a Ritter. I'm carrying mine around today and I'm still in love with it.

I suggest the orange handled ones(if possible).

And I thought I would say, out of all my knives, my Ritter mini Griptilian came with thee smoothest action straight out of the box. It flys open like an auto and the blade falls back without any wrist movements whatsoever. I still gloat about that to my brother, who picked up a G10 sheepsfoot mini twice, each needing their pivot adjusted. Benchmade's M390 is pretty sweet, too.

Are those available anywhere anymore? I know they are much loved by everyone that has the Ritter

Of the knives you named, Crooked River all the way. Such a beast and feels amazing in hand. Crazy nice Axis folder. Of those not named, a 940 of some kind. 940(x) is a great everyday carry.

Good luck in your selection and let us know what you get -with pics!:thumbup:

Knife works is where they're sold. I haven't checked lately, but there's a chance there is still a few stragglers left. I'm super, super, super happy I got mine when I did. For the price, the steel, and the bulletproof warranty you can't really go wrong.

Full size orange Ritter before they are gone, followed by a Crooked River because they are beautiful.

Just had my Barrage blade swapped out and love the Tanto. Great knife.

My EDC is Crooked River. But, alternate the G10 handle knife with the stabilized wood handle knife, monthly. Can't choose between them.

OP I'm not sure where you went or if you made a decision yet, but I can confirm all the great things said about the blade on the Ritter grip. Mine showed up yesterday and it is perfect!

Thank you everyone for their input. I went to my local knife shop up here in Toronto. I fiddled with a lot the ones you guys mentioned other than the Ritter griptilian. And I walked home happy with the purchase of the Benchmade 583 SBK. My first Benchmade asist opener. I'm very happy with my purchase.

That's a really nice knife, and despite the serrations there's still a lot of edge. Congrats on your first, and we expect to see more in your stable!
