Im looking for 2 new blades a folding and a fixed blade both carbon and finished for rust resistance. Does anyone know where to get a handmade one not to expensive though. Also whats the best sharpener out there.

A handmade knife? Do you mean a custom? The least expensive custom folding knife I've seen for sale was set at $300, so what's your price range? As for the best sharpener... that seems to depend on your preferences. Two off the top of my head are the Spyderco Sharpmaker and the EdgePro Apex. I've gotten most of my knives shaving sharp with my Sharpmaker, and I've heard lots of good things about the Apex, although the Apex is more expensive.

Welcome Michael. Please help us out and narrow things down a little. Price range, size , purpose? There are so many choices out there it's almost pointless to proceed otherwise.

i mean a custom blade hopefully an 8" inch blade for the fixed and a 3 inch for the folding. My price range is 200$ to 300$ it just takes time to get the money, But if the blade is good it is well worth it. And thank you for the sharpener advice.

Look up Big Chris for your fixed blade.
For a folder, do you have any preferences? A good production folder will do just about anything that you would use a custom for. There are flippers, assisted openers, different locking mechanisms, and various types of handle construction and materials.

Sharpening really depends on you. Whether you choose a jig or to do so by hand will really narrow doing choices for whatever is best suited for you. Personally I don't like jigs unless making a large reprofile.

For customs in both fixed and folder you can check our sales forums here (fixed) and here (folder) on top of many that can be found via reference in the search function.

Michael Morris for the folder. His friction folders are incredibly secure, have a useful but very unobtrusive bottle opener on the tang, made with micarta handles with blades crafte from carbon steel files (I have 10) and EDC legal virtually worldwilde. Excellent value.

Sharpener has to be Spyderco Sharpmaker. Firse class and soooo easy to use.

Peace be with you.

J
