I'm looking into a new knife or knives. I was thinking the other day that all my knives...ALL of my knives are drop point or leaf shape or some modified version. Thinking about what I use my knives for most often I think that a wharncliff or reverse tanto is in order for an audition. Show n tell time :D Show me what you use or have or tell me what you would recommend.

--I want it to have a straight edge. I want absolutely no belly on these knives.
--Price doesn't matter, I'm looking for a new high end main blade and a cheaper beater knife.
--Brand doesn't matter, I'm not a fan boy to anyone.
--Size matters to a point for a folder, I'm looking for a mid-large and a small. Nothing over 4" for the large or under 2" blade for the small.
--I'd prefer less than 3.5" but more wouldn't hurt lol.
--Manual action preferred, assisted is meh, auto is illegal here for me but I still carry them...shhhh! don't tell c;

I have a brous blade silent soldier and a crkt minimalist but both are drop point neck knives. I want to try the wharncliff of those.
If you recommend a fixed, I'd like it to stay around the size of the two I mentioned above. Brous SSV2 and the CRKT Minimalist. That is a good size I feel for a neck knife or back pocket blade.
So stick to anything around and under 5" long I guess. A little more wouldn't hurt though.

Well man for the big main edc you could go with a snody gravitator spyderco yo jimbo or a des horn.

For the small the only thing I can think of is the keshaw centafante (it might be assist....I can't really remember)

And for a fixed there's what I think is called the snody instigator.

So go check the bookshelf if you know what I mean;)

Or if you like the CRKT Minimalist, why not a true Folts Minimalist? I think I saw one in the exchange the other day. Or a Krein Dogfish? The Kershaw Centofante is a pretty little knife but it was small enough that it was tough for me to manipulate, even with the flipper. It is assisted.

I never though of looking at Snody's stuff, and I was thinking about getting a Folts.
Never heard of the kershaw centofante either, I don't keep up with my kershaws as much as other brands.
I don't want a yojimbo, i'm lookin for a more lean grind like a full flat or a higher hollow than that. I haven't heard good things about the yojimbo grind.
I've been meaning to get a leek actually, maybe I'll see if my walmart has them in stock.

I don't see a budget, but a cool one would be a kershaw tilt if you can find one.

I was just looking at the tilt, I don't like it's aesthetics. I like the boker kalashnikov reverse tanto blade a bit, I like the look of that centofante and I want a leek and other knives styled like that as a general statement. I'm still open to any suggestions.

Someone say Snody Gravitator? :D :D :D

IMO, Best. Knife. Ever.

Size is comparable to a Full Sized BM Griptilian.

More size comparisons.

P.S. Hit the 500th post...I think a giveaway is in order... :)

hmm... I don't know if I'm liking the gravitator. I can't find it anywhere in stock and does it only come with serrations? That is all I have seen.

That is because the knife has been discontinued for a long time now. They are few and far between on the Exchange and stores that claim to have them in stock are usually guilty of not updating their websites. Tey are plain edge and combo edge, both.

Spyderco Centofante 4 is an underrated knife imo.
Benchmade 250 Paul Axial and Spyderco Des Horn are similar in looks.

Boker Plus G4 is inexpensive and Bokers 440c for the price point isn't bad at all. I have a Trance and Hyper.
The blade falls a tad short of your min but look at the Boker Wharcom. Another great design from Chad Los Banos.

I just got me a Boker Plus G4. I like it so far, though it's bigger than I usually carry. It's a real no frills knife.

I kinda like that g4 as well as the bm 250 and spyderco centofante. Possibly ill get the boker ak74 reverse tanto and the g4 as my next knives. Thats gonna be a while tho cause i just found one i couldnt pass up, a grail knife for a decent price. A microtech utx70, ive wanted one since it came out and i finally found the one i want in stock and had the money

Gayle Bradley Air
Sanrenmu 702
Kershaw Needs Work

Those are what come to mind at the top of my head.

Another straight-edge option would be a CQC-7.

I forgot about the air and that srm 702 is nice looking i have to admit, i do enjoy a sanrenmu
. Thanks for the input gooey!
Thanks bigfatts! I love the microtech otf's this will be my first one in hand though. Im really excited!

Just got the Boker catalog in the mail yesterday. There's some pretty cool stuff in their lineup. Who knew?

I'm gonna have to get one I guess lol, I never really followed boker. They were always just and alright maker for me. I recently got a boker mini Kalashnikov, a blade hq exclusive dagger blade, #0006. I was hopin for three :/ I was close lol. I also had ordered a full size tanto ak74 for a buddy and they're actually pretty nice.

Also I didn't see before about the cqc-7 recommendation. I don't like tanto blades, I'm lookin for a reverse tanto or wharncliff. Like a utility blade.

I have just got a couple Bokers myself (Epicenter and Turbine Junior) after never taking notice of them and wow, I'm impressed. They're really putting out some nice stuff.
