looking for a new camera.
im a college student so money is tight. $150ish is my cap. any suggestions would be great.

While I'm not to familiar with P&S models in that price range I'd say check out DP Review and take a look at models from Canon and Panasonic. They're pretty much competing for top spot in the higher range P&S models and I'd imagine they've got models available in the $150 range.

If the contract on your phone is expiring soon, I'd recommend getting a decent cameraphone. The technology is certainly catching up to the point where it's worth investing in. Otherwise, you can look at this thread that I responded to. I highlighted some of the basic features you should be looking for in a Point and Shoot camera.
