I bought myself a 890 torrent last year and have loved it but I'm wanting to buy a new EDC for myself. I like the look of the ZT350 and 301 but need more opinions on good knives. Assisted opening only please(I'm in Canada.)
Looking to spend about $300.

Thanks,
Theblah

Sorry...:( Wasnt sure if assisted opening was classified as an automatic.
Could a mod please move this to the appropriate section?

I have some 0350s and 0300s in stock. The 0300s are HUGE and would not recommend them for EDC unless you absolutely needed a large knife. The 0350s are perfect, they are quick to open, sturdy, lock up tight, and are not as big. Contact me at contact@hollowgrind.com for pricing on the 0350.

They are also listed on my website at http://www.thehollowgrind.com but that is not the price I am selling them at (price will be lower, listed price is manufacturers minimum advertised price)

Thanks,
Dave

Benchmade has a limited edition Mini-Rukkus with assisted opening. They also have the barrage and warn knives that are also AO.

Thanks Dave...Thats just what I needed to know.
I like the look of the Mini Rukus with assisted opening but cant seem to find it anywhere.
I may end up with the ZT0350.

Sorry to be an ass, Dave, but theblah, try ordering in-country.

Customs can be finnicky with folders, if they can be flicked, an overzealous customs officer may seize it. You can appeal, but its a pain to be sure.

Warriors and Wonders has the same knives for the same prices, minus the autos.

Also, if you find an assisted Mini Rukus, lemme know! Been looking for one.

Thanks for the name of that store. I was looking for a store in Canada with a good selection of knives.

Buying in-country would be a lot safer, especially if it is true about over zealous customs officers. Even if the Canadian store is more expensive, it is worth it to bypass the potential hassle.

If you choose on a Benchmade, make sure that the clip configuration is to your liking. The 0350 clip can be mounted FOUR ways. I am not sure if the mini-rukus has the same ability.

I didn't have any problems whatsoever with the 3 Speedsafe AO knives I ordered from the US in the past

All of them shipped via USPS First-class , declared as folding knife with 50-70$ value

Customs didn't even opened the packages and I wasn't taxed either

gte217e - I just sent you an email for a ZT 0350 quote

Spend a little more and get a Galyean Pro Series with IKBS. IKBS is much better than AO IMO. I have the Galyean Mini JYD and it fires just as good if not better than my AO knives. If you don't want to spend that much the Kershaw OD-1 is a flipper that flips open just like a AO.

I have a 610, 615, and 6150 in the Rukus family. If there is an 'assisted' 615, I haven't seen it. Besides, a regular 610 & 615 open so easily, it's hard for me to imagine the need for 'asistance'. The 6150 was a misguided gift from my wife - and I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. The 615 deploys more quickly - and with less 'shock'. The Rukus family was canned last year - check stores for old stock.

The 610 makes a pocketable 'bushcraft' knife realized; the 615 is a great EDC.
