Well I'm do for a new EDC, I got a couple that I choose from and since my relocation to a new state, I left most of my knives back home. So right now I mostly use My Kershaw Blur... an EXCELLENT knife might I add, and thats an understatement!!!! And after ALL the abuse I've put my Blur through over the years, my new knife has alot to live up to. And since my birthday is on the 24th, I'm gonna treat myself to a gift.

So I need some help from you guys'

I was thinking of getting the...
CRKT Liong Mah Eraser
Benchmade Bedlam 860
Spyderco PPT
Kershaw... well almost any kershaw :p but I was thinking of the Kershaw R.A.M.

So now that you know of the kind of knife I'm kind of looking for, what would you recommend?? I like unique knives that have a cool looking design to it but also has to be functional too.
I like the CRKT Liong Mah Eraser alot, any reviews?? Or anyone own one that likes it??
I'm open to all suggestion's, but not looking to dent my wallet either. So maybe along the lines of the same price's as the other knives I listed would be nice... around $150-$200 or lower.

If your budget is $200 max, you have a lot of great choices to go with. There are so many amaing knives out there that its hard to recommnd one over the other.

I do have the Benchmade Bedlam and Kershaw RAM and here are my thoughts on them:

Benchmade Bedlam
Very cool design. The main reason why I bought this knife is because I couldnt stop drooling over it. Remember, it is a heavy knife. The large size and weight make it cumbersome for EDC. Ive carried mine on and off for about a year and Ill say that its not a knife I would recommend to most people. There are much cheaper knives that offer similar blade lengths and materials (such as the Spyderco Military). However, its still an amazing knife and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Kershaw RAM
This knife is discontinued so nows the best time to buy one befire its gone. My RAM has a very smooth action to it. The ergos are very good because of the big finger choil. The choil also helps a lot when I have to do detail work. I got this knife mainly because the design stood out from Kershaws other offerings. Its a great EDC knife in a smaller sized package. Theres really nothing bad I can say about this knife.

I recently picked up a PPT, it hasint left my pocket since, was previously carrying a para 2.

I really cant fault it, you get a lot of knife for your money, I made a couple small mods to mine, glass breaker etc, the factory pocket clip is awesome.
If you get the chance to handle one I would highly recommend it, something a bit different than the run of the mill edcs around.

Whoah!!! Wait a minute... you modded a glass breaker on your PPT?!! I gotta see that!!! You think you can post a pic of what you did to it??

Hmmm.......
Well, I got 3 good ones for you.
I'll go from cheap to expensive.

BUCK Paklite large skinner- VERY cheap, but also really well made. Can be had for like 17.00. One piece construction, and mine came very sharp.
Cold Steel Mini AK-47- cool design, cool wave feature, but doesnt stay sharp for like more than 2 weeks. Can handle alot of abuse though.
Benchmade 551 Griptilian- Really......"grippy". Jimping everywhere. AXIS lock is awesome, blade design is awesome.
All 3 are awesome in thier own way. Barely goes over $200.00 to get all 3! :D:D

If you have ~$100 to spend and want a do all EDC I'd opt for the Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Full flat grind equates to unparalleled slicing ability, the compression lock is leaps and bounds beyond the Walker liner lock and the overall ergonomics adapt to several grips and hand shapes.

I rotate through thousands of dollars worth of quality knives but I've not rotated out a PM2 yet.

Unabashed fan here.

The R.A.M. is an overall nifty knife with a really cool locking mechanism (hawke lock) and while the flipper takes a while to warm up to it is a very fast and realiable opening mechanism.

Yeah sure thing, all I did was replaced the pocket clip screw with a stainless screw I chopped and ground to a point. I just drilled and tapped the back spacer and used a nut to lock it all down, I had to flatten part of the liner and scale also to get the nut to sit flat, but very easy little mod.

Unique - Good looking - Practical - Under $200:
Spyderco PPT - sweet little guy
Spyderco Sage series - they look nice and are nice I favor the Sage 2
Spyderco Chokwe - I love this knife to put it simply.
Spyderco Lum - these are really good looking knives and they just work.
Etc.

I've heard good things about that particular crkt. It's one i'd like to pick up myself. I too like unique designs like that. I think that benchmade wouldn't be a great knife to carry around all the time.

You might want to try a Boker-Plus CLB Hyper. I just got one, brand new, for $15. It's an excellent edc and all too often over looked!
