It has been awhile since I have found my way around these parts. I got side tracked with guns and fast cars, but now I'm back and looking to build a collection of knives that I will actually use. These are the knives I currently own to help give you an idea about my taste: a large classic Sebie, a small Sebie, a Mnandi, a Umnumzaan, a small Busse fixed blade (around 3") and a small Strider fixed blade (around 3.5"). For the life of me I can't remember the model names for the two fixed blades. All of the Reeve folders are lefties.
What I would like to add right now is a traditional hunting knife with a blade of no more than 3.5 inches. I'm thinking a forged custom would be nice, but I'm open to suggestions. My budget is flexible, but I would like the best bang for my buck. The knife will be used to field dress whitetails and for general cutting chores around camp. Edge holding and toughness are more important to me than stain resistance.
Any help pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
