Looking for a new knife

I’ve been rocking a Kershaw Shuffle for a number of years and I’m looking for an upgrade. The shuffle has been ok, but it’s got terrible edge retention and feels pretty cheap and flimsy. I have LOVED the size tho. It’s nice and small and disappears in my pocket.

What I’m wanting is something nice and small, folding, deep carry pocket clip and under $200 aud

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

perhaps look at the Kershaw 1670nbmag. within your budget with good steel and a lifetime warranty.

I recommend a Benchmade mini-griptillian. Less than $200 with CPM-S30V steel, which is definitely an upgrade. Blade length under 3 inches but a little longer than the shuffle. Reasonable deep pocket carry.

A used Benchmade mini Bugout would be a good option. You could get one on the forum for $150 US or less if you looked for it.

Spyderco chaparral, Delica, or pm3 would all be a good choice and out perform what you have been carrying… imo

I am not failure with the knives you discus, however I do have a suggestion for an upgrade.

For the last twenty five years (more actually) my EDC has beenone or another Leatherman tool. Currently it is a Wave+_. I do not often carry a single blade folder.

My suggestion for you is a Chris Reeves folder. There are several different models. My pick would be a Large Sebenza 32, but CRK makes a smaller model of the same kn ife. CRK has got to Magnicut for their entire lineup at this time I understand. The Sebenza has a titanium frame locking handle and may be had plane or with various engraved designs or handle inlays. Damascus is sometimes available. There are smaller models , a Minandi I think may be right for you.

Last year I gave our son a CRK Sebenza 31 for his 45th birthday. He loves it. It is now his EDC. They run from around $500 for the plane handled magnicut blade. Sure, that is 2-1/2 ties your budg, others in their lineup are lower. . .so save up and make it happen. There may be makers who offer a similar knife at a lower price point, but no one will tell you that you that your CRK is an inferior knife.

The Spyderco Ambitious comes close enough to your requirements to merit mentioning. (the one with the blue handle and S35VN blade steel)

The pocket clip isn’t deep carry and the absence of a finger choil on the blade rules out a four finger grip but the ergonomics make up for it in my opinion.

Kick ass little knife and well within your price range.

I think 2 inches and under is pretty useless for a sole edc and best kept as an additional "knife-like tool" in a bag or on a keychain
2.75 to 3 inches is a great range.
that being said, look into dragonfly 2, or mini griptillian
Spyderco meercat in spy27 is poking up sometime soon as well.
Just ideas
