I'm looking for a new folding knife to buy. My birthday is coming up and I want to spend my money that my parents give me with something other than food. I currently have 5 knives, one Mtech, one maxam, one smith and wesson, a buck tempest, and a Benchmade Griptilian. I'm looking for a knife under a hundred. I'm looking for something thats durable, rarely needs to be sharpened, and a blade bigger than 2.5 inches. However the most important factor for me is how it looks. I'm looking for a knife that looks modernized and "cool". The tempest is a really nice knife to me in terms of looks, I enjoy the skeleton like frame. When I want a "cool" look it can be either through the frame or the paint job (like the buck sirus which has a variety of handles). I prefer not to have a liner lock and would rather have something like the benchmade's axis lock but its just a small preference.

what do you guys recommend?

Welcome to BF! I have obly one suggestion and that is a Kershaw G-10 Tyrade. Check them out at www.knifeworks.com. Under a hundred and that includes shipping. Will leave enough to go to McDonalds for a value meal and a milkshake!

So far you've been given two great suggestions and I don't think you'll do better for under $100.

I'd also suggest a Kershaw tanto Groove and an OD-1. You should be able to both for under $100 and they're both good knives.

The new Spyderco FRN stretch is begining to appear on the net, you can find it for around $80 shipped. 3.5" blade, full flat grind, bidirectional FRN handle and skeletonized liners. I can't wait to get my hands on one.
