I have been looking to buy another knife but anm up in the air on what to get. I am drawn to the SOG Vulcan VL-1, but have seen a lot of bad things said about SOG knives
Benchmade is high on the list with models like the Model 530 - Pardue, and Model 14200 - H&K AXIS

I like the look of spear points and want to stay away from assisted opening and autos, because the future of the legality here is unclear (autos are illegal already).

Another knife that has cought my eye is the CS Rajah 2, but its just the cool factor of the knife and being that I already own a real Khukuri I can't see the reason for owning a learge folding version.

My price is limit is around $150, but I am willing to go over that if it really catches my eye, and would like a better than AUS8 blade, and most Spydercos are out because I just don't like the look of them. I understand they are great knives, its just the look of them doesn't do it for me.

So there it is let the suggestions begin, I will look at everything suggested, and thanks

You want to look at the new knife from Fallkniven,. the FH9.
It is "old-fashioned" in it`s way.
Weighty compared with "modern" knives of today but perfectly balanced in the hand (My preference) ,nail-nick either side of the blade and a good "snap" on opening.
Finish is excellent.
I highly recommend it.
I paid about £165.00 for it in the UK,

Those are beautiful knives, but not really what I am looking for at this time. I am looking for something a little more brutish in nature. Sort of the folding tactical look. The price kind of puts it out of my range at the moment as well being that with the current exchange rate on the british pound your 165 GBP is over 290 CAD.
Thanks for the introduction to a new brand to look at though, and they will be in the back of my mind now

George

Any restrictions on blade length?

Zero Tolerance 200 or 500/500 mudd?

Emerson cqc 10/11, mini commander?

Lone Wolf Longhorn, Blackfoot

Plenty of Benchmades in that range too.

Btw, welcome to Bladeforums!

Like the Zero Tolerance 200 best of them all, any specific benchmades I should look at other then the ones i mentioned?

OK so heres whats been suggested so far, that has cought my eye
ZT 0200 - nice looking knife read a lot of good about them and in my price range
Al Mar SERE 2000 - can't find a Canadaian dealer so anyone know one, please let me know
Emerson cqc 10/11 - pushing the upper limits of my price range but everything I have heard make them well worth the extra money
Emerson mini commander - right in the price range so its a true contender for the job
Emerson commander - not suggested but took a look based on the mini and it sits with the cqc 10 and 11 on the price scale
Benchmade 710 -hot knife, under my price limit. Only sold out at the moment. I am thinking this might be the one I will just have to pre order it and wait. Everything else on the list is going on my need to get list though

Like the 710 its heading to the short list, and comes in under my $150 price limit, only problem is that its currently sold out were I would buy it. Well if its the one I would just have to pre order and wait

You have a knife addiction, go to the shrink & pay him 1000.00 for help right away! No wait.. spend the money on more great knives & hit the shrink's bank account instead! I hope you find the knfe you are looking for! Please excuse the shrink joke!!!

So many great knives it's hard to wrap your head around. But of ones listed above..

710 - Don't have one but on my list to get. Never held so can't comment but there is lots of love for that one.
ZT200 - Have on arriving in the next two days. Great reviews and feel great in the hand, but a bit big for some to EDC. Tough as nails
Emerson CQC10 - My next knife if I can find the one I want. I LOVE Emersons and almost lost the tip of my thumb today on my CQC-7A. If you like spear points, there is a place on Ebay that sells them(CQC-7A) in your price range.
Emerson CQC-8 - Excellent all around knife. Does it all.
Spyderco Military/Para - Both are great knives. Mili is huge but light weight. Para is about perfect for EDC.

Check out YouTube for video reviews of all the ones that interest you. The cream will rise to the top of your needs list.

Good luck!

No I have a bicycle addiction, I have three of them and the cheapest is just over $3000. I evan have a 9" travel downhill bike that is worth over $10,000 and I live in the praries. You know I think the formula for the propper number of bikes to own would work for knives too. That would be X+1 where X is the current number of bike/knives you own:D

I think I have decided on the Benchmade 710 and will be ordering it in the next week, but feel free to keep feeding my addiction to knives;)

Got the 710 about two weeks ago, Love this knife. I don't think I could have made a beter decision, that and asking for advice here. Thanks everyone that spoke up
