The Hest is a fixed blade. The Hest folder is almost out. I love the Hest for work/utility knife. You won't regret any decision you make.
hi, for a farm work everyday knife the hest fixed blade is great, i use mine everyday on the ranch. the prybar is very handy for working on fence.

In my opinion is the ESEE3 best for fixed blade EDC, im using ESEE4 now and its amazing blade! Ok it's not for city EDC but for farm why not?![]()
what kind of tasks do you usually do around the farm? butchering animals, maintaining fence lines or clearing out tree limbs and such? you can easily go from an izula to junglas or machete. if all of the above then an izula or esee-3 paired up with a junglas is perfect.
you might also look at the Izula or Izula 2 -- very capable blade out of proportion for its size, and a little thicker than the blade on the 3 (although also a bit shorter)
I find myself dropping an Izula in my pocket more than I do putting my 3 or 4 on my belt when doing stuff on the property. (and yes, I have fence pliers for fencing, too)
I have a feeling that i will end up with an izula soon as well. im getting the 4 for christmas, and will probably buy an izula shortly after the new year. so if the izula and the 4 make a good combo, i'll be set.
I've been carrying the Izula on the farm for a couple years and it does everything I've ever wanted it to do. Between the farm and working for the game and parks here it has gotten tons of use. I have thought about getting a HEST fixed blade but the Izula is so convenient, carries in my front pocket just fine and is a great size overall. I think an Izula II might be a serious contender with the fuller handle though, and it should still pocket carry very well.
