Hello,

I am currently carry just a cheap four inch stiletto that is getting real old. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for me. What I am looking for is a sleek nice looking knife that is spring assisted with at least a four inch blade on it. My budget is anywhere from 50 to 150 dollars. I want something that is going to last.

I am an eagle scout and a college kid and would like something useful in desperate situations such as a survival situation or just defending myself.

Any help?

Hi, Jesse! Welcome to the forums. For survival situations, what about a nice fixed blade? Condor and Becker have some decent offerings for great prices. As for a folder, Kershaw seems to hold the market on spring assisted knives. Plenty of guys here can recommend some good ones. If you're looking for a good folder that won't let you down, I would check out something like the Benchmade Griptilian. It's not assisted, but it is a solid knife that has served hundreds of guys and gals here well.

Hey Jesse

Let me know if you are interested in any of the stuff I had pulled up yesterday

A lot of people with recommend the 0350, however I think a Spyderco PM2 would get the job done. The S30V is amazing, The lock is sturdy, the handles feel amazing.

Welcome!

Couple questions might help us help you.

1) Do you want to use this knife for just "survival" and SD? Or is this an "everyday carry knife"?
2) What kind of survival situations do you expect to get into? Where will these situations go down? Woods? Urban?
3) Do you have any knife-based self defense training?
4) What are your on-campus knife regulations?

Thanks!
