If you've seen my last thread, you'd know I'm a huuuuuge overbuilt knife fan. I just received my TSF Beast. AND IT IS AWESOME(but that's for another thread...)
Okay, so, I'm looking for my next overbuilt folder, my limit is $550

Grayman satu/dua, Ti lionsteel SR-1, Strider smf/sng, Direware solo, HTM gunhammer, brous division flipper, Protech integrity just to name a few :)

I'd say do yourself a favor and check out the El Patron. High quality folder that is stout, great knife with 3V blade steel.

Jim Ankerson says his favorite is a Demko AD-10 which may be available for your $550. I'm sure it's a great knife; the design is excellent. Demko came up with the Tri-Ad lock, if I'm not mistaken. I would love to have a Demko, although I doubt that I could manage to outwait the list.
A much more economical choice would be a Grayman Dua. Still a very nice knife, S30V, about 3 1/4" blade-length and a blade-width of 0.165". I also have a TSF Beast in M390, and think each is plenty of knife for my uses.

The email I got from Demko was mine would be close to $600 shipped.
I would go with a Satu or a SMF

The Zt 200 is a beast of a folder with a very formidable recurve, which like most recurves leaves me indifferent. It's well under your budget though, still it's a cool folder, that has excellent G-10 scales. Feels very natural in the hand, for a big, modern, folder.

I doubt any folder will beat the Demko's in pure strength from what I have seen. :)

I will put another vote in for Grayman Satu for overbuilt, big knife. And they just came out with an all-stonewashed (not bead blasted) version that looks really, really nice.

just to add - the people there are the nicest and their customer service was second-to-none in my opinion

First a Direware is wayyy out of his budget and finding one isn't the easiest.

I would suggest.....

Grayman SATU
Brous Blades Division Flipper (I have #7 and its amazing)
Sniper Bladeworks LPC
Ron Flaherty Customs Model 1 (awesome knife if you can find one)
Strider SMF
Three Sisters Forge Super Beast (If you can find one)
Zero Tolerance 0200
Lionsteel SR-1 (not the biggest but def a great knife)

There are more but your going to creep north of your $550 budget.

Lol I just threw the direware in there as an extreme overbuild example :) and you never know it could spark his intrest to save up for a larger budget haha thats also why I put in alot of other examples in his range

Strider, for pure over bulutness and if you break it , they fix it if you dont modify your knife! Best warranty in the business!

I'm sure I'd recommend one too but been waiting 14 months and no word.

He has a 2 year waiting list, he can only make 30 a year....

TJ, you might want to email him. I'm at 11.5 months, and was told yesterday it will be ready at the 13 month point. I ordered 2 knives which will be nearly identical with the exception of the blade steel.
