Looking for a new pen

I'm looking for a new pen to use at work, it has to be fairly durable, and I'd prefer a relatively deep carry clip, since it will be spending a lot of time in pen loops in a shirt.

It has to be ballpoint, I like the Fisher space pen refills, and I like the Parker Jotter refills too, but I'm not picky about that, as long as it is ballpoint.

Now for the kicker: I don't want a click pen or a pen with a cap. That pretty much leaves a twist as my best option. I'd prefer one of the twist mechanisms that acts more like a click pen, where you turn the barrel maybe 1/4 or 1/2 way around and the tip snaps out, instead of a continuous twist to roll the tip out (e.g. most twist pens like Cross etc.). I honestly don't know what to call those types of pens, so it's hard to search for that specifically.

If there was a twist version of the jotter I would probably jump on that right away. Other than that, my top option is the Grafton Mini-Twist, but it doesn't have the exact action I'm looking for.

Can anyone help me out? I'd prefer to keep it under $50 but that's flexible.

I think Cross would do as a high end twist pen.

Also, have you considered the "bolt action" style pens?
I have one that works really well for me, because I don't like clickers on the end, I don't like caps, and I don't like twister pens.

That's the conclusion I'm coming to. I've considered the bolt action pens, but the pen will be stored in a pen loop, and most of the bolts will not fit inside the loop.

Check out the ti-scribe... the bolt is the clip. Or maybe the clip is the bolt. Either way, I love mine.
There's probably a ballpoint refill that will fit.

The Ti-scribe is great. It can fit a Fisher and parker refill, but you need to buy a conversion kit for those.

I like the concept of the Ti-scribe, the price is a little much for me right now. I'll have to mull that one over for sure.

Thanks! Those look good, and I like how the bolt is above the clip. The bolts do look like they're recessed into the barrel, is it still easy to access even with gloves?

Yup, that one looks pretty good. I might have a winner... I'll hold off for now though to see if anyone has a suggestion below my budget. Thanks for the help!

Okay with thinner gloves but definitely more difficult with thicker gloves.
This might fit the bill. A bit more than your budget but a darn decent pen none the less. Works well with gloves.

I have one just like it that I bought in early 2014. I keep it in my desk at work and I've used it daily at the workplace for the last 6 1/2 years. I bought a black one just in case I ever wore it out or lost it but neither one of those things have happened yet. The black one remains in its box.

Mine has held up surprisingly well. This photo was taken after about 3 years of daily use and it doesn't look too much worse today. I have never wanted for another pen since I bought my first one. I'm glad I have a backup but at the rate I'm going, I may never need it. I'm not really a pen enthusiast. Just wanted something durable and comfortable to use and this one has met those requirements with flying colors.
