I have the sharpmaker, but im just not into sharpening like some people are. I like my blades sharp but not very good at it. I would rather have something thats fast and simple. So my question is... Does anyone know of a good electric sharpener that works good that is fast and simple? Like one that uses belts maybe. Would any belt grinder work as long as i use the right grit paper? Or do you need somethig completely different for knives? Thanks for any input.

Look for the WorkSharp by Ken Onion. (About $130 on Amazon). I have one and it is fast and does a fair job with acceptable results.
Use caution and old knives till you lean how to use it or you'll damage your knives.
I don't use mine much any more except for kitchen knives. I get better results w/diamond or wet stones or washboard sandpaper.
