I've been getting back into slipjoints again lately and I only have two. I have a Case Swayback Jack and I have a GEC #68 White Owl. I love these two knives, but I want a little more variety. I want something around the same size as the two that I already have, no more than two blades, and less than$40. If you guys could help me out with some suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Case Small Texas Jack in Amber Bone CV. Case Mini Trapper in Chestnut Bone CV.

Either can be had for under $40 if you shop wisely.

It's the less than $40 that is hard, Maybe you could look into a single blade alox swiss army knife? I have a few Vic alox SAK's and I love them. Rough rider is always an option. Also, keep an eye out on the "Old Timey for sale" section, good older knives can be had for $20-$40.

It's kind of hard to guess what you might want without more details, but i'm guessing that because you have a white owl and a Case, you want something a little different. Victorinox is worth taking a look at.

I suggest a Boker Barlow, they can be had in that price range easily, just make sure you get one made in Germany, I have both and greatly prefer the workmanship of the German made example.

Queen mini trapper jack can come in around that price. If you step u p to $50 you can get one in D2. I believe they are 3.5".

While most of the winterbottom jigged delrin Queens appear to be 1095, the Queen #51 Workhorse Trapper Jack is in D2.

I've looked at the Texas Jack before maybe I'll look into that.

Perhaps this is an option? 3 3/8 inch and easily found under $40. (MSRP $33)

Yes, The CASE Pen would be my recommendation too. Really sleek knife.

For a lot more money, the GEC Conductor is a prime target too!
