hey guys. im looking for a new flashlight. i usually carry the really little maglite AAA on my key chain but it really isnt bright enough. im looking for another one thats brighter (can be a little bigger) doesnt hav to remain on the keychain but does hav remain small enough to be in pocket (i wear khakis alot so not quite as big a pocket as jeans) any suggestions ill take

Surefire e1l, I have one and it is bright and fit in my pocket. It takes 1 123 batt and so far has lasted since I received it in dec of 2007. I use it every day, becareful the lens does get warm after long burn time, but i think you be pleased. I was won over by this little light...LED and surefire.

Thanks- looks good dont know if i want to carry around an eighty dollar flashlight tho

If you mean the Solitare then just get this. Its brighter, lasts lnoger, way cheaper than $80 and if the lite gets screwed up you can take it out & put it in another one. Use lithium batt, keep weight down and runs longer.

anything from fenix.

i love surefires, but fenix currently has them beat on brightness, size, and price.

I'll second that. Just got a Fenix L1D with the Cree LED and am very impressed. Not much bigger than a AA battery and easily as bright as my older surefire 6P.

take a look at the fenix site. I carry a LODce that is about the same size as your solitare and very bright.

Pick up the Arc-AAA. The new standard model (using Nichia CS) is plenty bright for most people's needs (it'll blow away your Solitaire and/or Mini Maglite) and is roughly the same size, too. Read a review here: http://flashlightreviews.com/reviews/arc_aaa-p.htm

The model reviewed on that site is listed as premium but when the newer Nichia DS LED came out, they now sell that premium model as the "standard" and the DS model as the premium.

Personally, I like it better than the L0D-CE, which is sitting on my desk and not in my pocket.

the arc aaa is a good one (i gotta get another one my girlfriend 1A appropriated mine AND my surefire E1e w/a KL4 head lol i think she likes lites.) i really like my fenix P1D-CE w/a leef clickie tube, fenix makes one like that now FWIW, they are the best albeit a little larger than the arc, lots lots brighter though.

I got a Fenix LOD for Christmas. It has the Luxeon Rebel 100. The turbo mode is rated at 60 lumens. I can't verify that, but it's pretty bright -- lights up my small back yard -- not bad for a single AAA light.

check out www.candlepowerforums.com. Go to the marketplace...there's a ton of neat little (1 CR123, 1 AA 1 AAA) LED's there, new and used, from $ 15 on up...

Personal preference is the Olight T10 and T15, the Arc AAA-P, the Fenix E0 Dart (discontinued, but there are still a few floating around), and the Surefire L1.

Sportsman's Warehouse has a huge sale on certain Surefire lights...some are $ 100 off.

sportsmans is where i buy my SF stuff........even not on sale they are still cheaper than most,

I got mine here on the forum traded for knives. Keep an eye out I am sure you will find one for sale or for trade.
