Looking for a new Spyderco

I LOVE my Tenacious. Especially for a knife that's available for around $30. After doing a bit of searching I've found that there are a shit ton of different Spyderco models available. I'm looking for a model that's comparable in size, shape and appearance (and preferably flat grind) to the Tenacious but with higher quality steel and made in the states. What are my options?

Manix 2 might fit your requirements. Regular production isn't flat ground, but most of the sprint runs are and they're not usually too difficult to locate.

The new Manix 2 with blue FRN and CTS BD1 steel might interest you. The new Native 5 in S35VN steel might be another option.

Get the Spyderco Sage 1. Although it's made in Taiwan it has the best workmanship I've seen on a knife. It's actually smoother than my Paramilitary 2 which is made in Golden, CO. Matter of fact, it's the smoothest knife I own. If you're dead set on getting a Spyderco that's made in the U.S get the Native 5.

You can find the US made Para 2 at prices below the Sage and you'll never second guess your choice.

Manix will be about the same size/shape (maybe a little bigger). The Sage series is really nice for an EDC, but a little too small for my hands. I prefer more of a 3.5" blade so I recommend the Para2, Stretch, Caly3.5. Problem with Spyderco is they have so many great designs.. or should I say the best thing.

Para2 is a great feeling knife in the hand honestly its probably one of my favorites and Im sure its lots of other peoples favorite too

I almost always rock my para 2 or manix 2. You won't regret either one, even if the price is a little high for you they are amazing and worth every penny.

Para 2 for sure. If you wanted a Persistance-sized knife, then get a Sage, but for a Tenacious-sized knife, Para all the way. Super Leaf is also in there, but its bulkier (thicker/heavier too).

Have you looked at the Native 5. I looked at it last week and it had great fit and finish. Still deciding if I should pick it up.

I have to echo EZ Bake. The Para 2 is superb knife, and basically Tenacious sized. The Sage is a superb knife and basically Persistence sized. Both have just perfect ergonomics, particularly the Sage ... that knife is just a true pleasure to hold and carry.
