My four Maglite's and Maratac AAA Rev 3 have been working well for the past few years, but after last night, I realize I need something more.
I'd like a recommendation for a solid light with these particular specifications:

200+ Lumens (My 140 lumen Maratac wasn't cutting it during last night's perimeter search)
Good throw distance (My Maratac light wasn't meant to be searching the property :foot:)
Clicky Switch with/without Momentary Switch
I'm partial to AA, because of availability, but CR123 is fine.
$200 max - Under $150 is preferable, but I keep my max at $200 for my "easily replaceable cost"
Size does not matter, it will be bedside and not EDC

I've looked into the Olight brand and a few others. The few Surefire's that I've used, seemed overpriced. Every Streamlight, that I have used seemed sub-par for their size. I have not had a chance to fondle a foursevens, olight, fenix, inova, or nitecore. I was gifted a LED Lenser light last year that was great for the price-point, size, and weight, but it ran on 3 AAA batteries.

I vote for the Fenix PD32. Good throw, excellent output. It does use CR123's, but can be run on rechargeable 18650s as well. It's a heck of a light. I have the older model (PD31) sitting on my nightstand.

Oh, and it can be had for less than $60!

Try a Nitecore SRT7 or a Night Reaper Estrela. Both are nice at 900ish lumens. I like the SRT7 for work and the Estrela for home/defensive carry.

I have a Fenix TK12 that I'm pretty happy with. It's 450 lumens, good balance of throw and flood, good color. It will run on 2 cr123s but I use an 18650 in it.

I just ordered a Fenix TK35... ...supposed to be 1800 lumens. It will be interesting to see how it compares. It takes 2 18650s, or 4 cr123s

Another one to look at may be a Klarus XT11. It's pretty similar to the TK12, a bit brighter but cooler color, overall I like the TK12 better.

I may take a gamble and see how well Maratac's Extreme Tactical AA holds up. AA batteries and will supposedly top out a little over 600 lumens.

I'd prefer to find something more reliable, though. Fenix definitely seems to be more on the everyday/reliable end of the spectrum.
