I don't want a coating of any kind on this knife, steel can be stainless or carbon, and would like it to have a handle (no paracord wrap either please,) and will be carried in my front right pocket of my jeans. (I like IWB carry, but it's not what I want in this knife... I will carry it with my shirt tucked in and do not want to show any handle)

I'm thinking a Graham with one of their pocket sheaths might be just the ticket.

But do you know of any others? I could have a sheath made so that's not really an issue, but do not really want to have to Pimp the knife it's self to thin the scales down or anything.

Will mostly be used for EDC type stuff, I have bigger stuff to go into the woods with. It will also be paired up with a slip joint of some kind so I'd like this fixed blade to be on the stout side. Not really prybar thick, but just about :D

Many thanks in advance!

(Price??? $100-$500)

I would go with a Eddie White fixed blade. Has a great heavy duty leather sheath to go with it. I know you said for pocket carry but I feel this is a good one and carrys well on the hip. Should hold up for a long time as an EDC. Good luck with your search.

That is nice, priced right too... but I really need in the pocket carry so I can carry at work. I'm a sales man and can't have a fixed hanging off my hip when I talk to my buyers :o

Might need to go 3.5 cutting edge and not 4, I'd really like 4... but it's a little big for in the pocket.

I'm lost in the fixed blade game.... :o

Spyderco Street Beat.
3.5" blade, 7 3/16" OAL, VG-10 steel, and micarta handle.
Take the TekLok off the bolataron sheath and slip it in your pocket.

Had two of them, the huge finger choil just feels funky in my hand :o

I forgot about the street beat. I have one and it just might be the right size your looking for and light weight too. You could attach one end of 550 paracord through a hole in the kydex and the other end threw a belt loop creating a static line. When you want to deploy the knife from your pocket it will dissengage the the knife from the sheath.

This is what I carry...

Made by Stomper ,JK Handmade knives. 3" scale to tip (John could add 1/2" ), 6 1/2" OAL. Convex edge, 1/8" O1.

I use this for everything. Everything from batoning small stuff to opening mail.

In hand..

 +1 on Stompers knives....Great blades, awsome quailty at a good price ;) John is also a great guy to deal with

Fancy! :D

I would choose something from Charles May or Gene Ingram.

Check out MykulMorris' work in the Makers area.....

Also the Gossman PSK with yr choice of scales would do it.

David Farmer makes a groovy little EDC...

Lotsa choices!

I like small fixed blades, and I'm a value conscious owner.

David Farmer makes knives I'll almost certainly purchase again, considering I've bought several over the last couple years. If you want to brag on your knife, there are a great many makers that charge more. If you want to use it regularly there's darn few that charge less. He does good, plain, trustworthy work at a fair price.

My idea of fair price would starve a churchmouse into bankruptcy, i spell that ' c h e e p '.

I'd 2nd Mykulmorris's knives. Most of them are made out of files, but I believe he does some out of 440C. Also, he has a pretty neat pocket carry FB with a kydex sheath that could be clipped to your pocket or just sit in there. I'm sure he could work with you on that, so you probably don't have to have a sheath made for it.

There're other makers in the Maker's section, too, of course, but Mr. Morris's stuff just sticks in my mind when I read your post.

My recommendation is Tom Krein, possibly a Micro Chef, with his lightweight option in CPM154. Superbly made, beautifully sharp and a joy to carry......:)
Be sure and post pics when you finally decide......

+1:thumbup: Two of the best at smaller fixed blades.

The one in the middle is a May "Refuge". I had him make a pocket sheath, and a belt sheath for it.

Forgot to add...the Refuge is 7.25" with a 3.25" blade. It fits in a front pocket well, but I don't think you would want any bigger.

A 3.5" or 4"(as you mentioned) blade would be a bit large for a pocket fixed blade IMO.
