looking for a nice chunky square faced watch

I've never been serious about wristwatches except that they be tough. I have a stainless steel case Fossil and an old Vostok tanker watch, but I'm looking to get something a little more high end now.
The watch needs to have a significant weight to it, a black or blue face, and preferable a leather band.
I was looking at Poljots and I like them, but I'd like to know what else is out there. I'd prefer a hand-winder, actually.
I'd like to keep it at or under $500.
So... watch nuts... let me know what's out there?

I just received this.Poljot
yesterday. I really like the way it looks. What do you guys think? The one I bought is rose gold plated. I'm
wearing it for casual and dress. Two problems with the watch that may of changed my
mind with the purchase. I was under the belief that it was water resistant and I was under
the impression the hands were super Luminova. There is no indication that the watch is
water resistant and that really sucks. I'm near sighted so I sleep with my watch on. The hands and numbers do not stay bright at all.

Look at a Seiko SKXA33... I have one and it has a very pleasing heft. Plus, it's an auto so you never have to worry about batteries and such.
