Hey, first post, greetings to you all!

So im looking for a nice folder that i can keep in my pocket all day for everyday tasks, my side job (cutting packaging, plastik rope, cardboard standups etc) and collecting some plants.
Right now im using a pretty beat up STIHL pocket knife, the steel is quite soft so it is often only sharpish after a day of frequent use. Since i made some easy money recently i though I
might as well get myself something nice that will hold up for a change, so the budged is around 100$ (before Import charges) but i would go up to 200$ if its worth it.

The folder should have a single non serrated blade ~3 inches long with a not threatening look (I dont want costumers or bystander to think Im robbing them). For the design I though something like
a mini Griptillian or a RAT 2 would be good, but the law in my country prohibits me from carrying a folding knife that can be locked quickly with 1 hand/is designed to (good sized fixed blades are fine in Germany for some reason),
so i could carry this
but not that

Some candidates would be

the U2 ( the SGP steel is supposedly good and hard, but it looks a little to small to be comfortable, the large Fällknivens seem a little overpriced) http://www.knifeworks.com/fallknivenu2lockback.aspx

or a Müller msp (around 140$ but i would have import costs,g10 or wood handles, CMPS90V Steel) http://www.mueller-messer-shop.de/e...Path=/Shops/61906544/Products/BLK-G10-schwarz

Id really appreciate some knife suggestions. Im also not quite sure what what steel would be the best to keep a good edge with maybe weekly touch ups given it has proper heat treatment. The SGP steel has high HCR which should give it good edge retention in my understanding,
then again steels like s90v supposedly have very good good edge retention with ``only´´ 58-60 hcr.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Lots of great options in your price range. If you're looking for a more utilitarian but still traditional design, I'd suggest one of the following which are among my favorites. Best of luck!

A classic design would definitely work although I wouldnt mind the blade having a bit more height. The Bullnose seems interesting, but the scales look a little shrill so id rather go with a higher end version.
The gentlemans pocket knife from Fällkniven also looked pretty good, but at 225 euro (300$) Id probably dont feel comfortable buying it.
