What you need isn't a better way ( doesn't exist ) what you need is simply a proper execution of the best and right way 👍
The traditional method of hanging a poll axe has been used for centuries for a reason.
As long as you fit the head properly onto the shoulder with up to 1/4" protruding out the top and wedge it good and tight , then there's actually no method that's better.
