Right now a have a Opinel number7 ,a victorinox rambler and a EKA "bug" knife ( i like the design ), but I want something....different ;>. Im thinking of buying a victorinox soldier knife, you think it's worth it? :>

Maybe this is a worthless thread but anyways..i want to know the opinion of people who know what to buy ;>

the vic soldier is a great little knife that can do almost anything. main thing is to pick what you like and go with it. there are no worthless threads only worthless answers. welcome to the board, if you stay around for awhile you'll be surprised what you learn. later, ahgar

Welcome to BladeForums -

For a noob, you seemed to have homed right in on some of the best value quality knives available in the Victorinox SAKs and the Opinel.

I think your Victorinox Soldier is a very fine choice -
but then I'm just a bit biassed -

I'm also looking for a small knife. I lost my spyderco mere-cat in San Francisco a couple weeks ago. It was a great little knife. If you are ever there, and you find it, I'd like to get it back.

those knifes are the same ;>. thanks for the link ;) , but I think i'll go with the victorinox one cuz the main blade is harder to close ;>

If all you want is a small edc PEN knife, you might try a Victorinox excelsior. It has 2 blades and is my edc now. Thin and lightweight, perfect for office duty imho

A VERY nice small slim (very slim) knife is the

One that might fit the bill for something really small, lightweight, but still useful is the Victorinox secretary or slightly thicker pocket pal. No tools, two blades. Totally thin and easy to carry, but often overlooked (after all, it is an SAK w/o tools...).

I'll second the Spyderco Dragonfly. I also like my Victorinox Cadet. Good little knife as well.

Have you picked a small knife yet? I am curious! DO let us know what you choose, if you haven't yet.

Greetings from another noob... I have to throw my hat in with the Spyderco crowd. I carry a Dragonfly and I love it.

Just another one for you. :) The Vic Cadet it's almost the same as the Soldier but a little smaller. Rides in a front pocket very well it's become one of my most carried.
