well...I know there are some guys out of crookston Mn who show up at art fairs here in Grand Forks,,,and they have a few knives to sell, and have a Blacksmith club

One of the easiest ways to locate bladesmiths in your area is to either go to the bookstore or order the current issue of Knives Annual book by Krause publications. I believe the current one would just be called Knives 2005.
In the back there is an extensive listing of makers both alphabetically and by state/city. Find them in the state listing then look them up in the alpha listing for their phone number. You may get turned down by one or two but most knifemakers will allow a visit that may turn into a relationship.
