Hello ladies and gentlemen. Ive come to the realization that gecs electrician knife would be a perfect work companion for me. Unfortunately theyre near impossible to find for a reasonable price.(sub $100)

I was hoping someone here could reccomend me a knife with a screwdriver/saw secondary blade and a clippoint main. Ive already got a camillus electricians knife, but it lacks a saw blade. Ive also got a victorinox hiker which is an awesome knife, but its not carbon steel.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. And as always, thank you for taking the time to read.

So you only want carbon steel? I think that is going to be a tough order...
All the knives that come to mind that are even close to what you are asking a SAKs or something similar, all of which are stainless only.

This one is a bit off your specs but I've always liked the Camillus C4. Not in production but you can find one at auction.
Stainless steel.

In addition.....if I was told I could only keep one knife out of my collection as an EDC, this would be the one.

Why carbon steel you are discribing a sak just not carbon just asking

Honestly, ive had stainless my whole life until a few months ago. I say carbon because i like the patina. I like taking care of my knife. With stainless i just throw it in my pocket and forget about it.

Im not against stainless at all. I just was hoping for a carbon option.

As i said, ive already got a sak hiker that fits my needs. Its a great knife, i was just hoping for something with a bit more character.

Id still be open to different steels, carbon is just preferred

Schrade 220OT Old Timer but it is stainless

Hmm looks good, just wish the hatchet blade was a screwdriver. I managed to find a knife similar to that but with a screwdriver in place of the hatchet. Unfortunately it had only 1 review, saying it was awful. Antonini professional tool i believe was the name

I was hoping for a 2 in 1 screwdriver saw blade. (Slimmer for better pocket carry) I guess my best bet is to keep an eye out on the auction site and the for sale section for one of the gecs

Combination screwdrivers and saws are fairly uncommon (which is fine by me since I think sharp saw teeth on a screwdriver is a terrible design) I don't think that exists in 1095 except from GEC. The only alternatives that I've seen are stainless.

When STR got the electricians knife project going with GEC, he had both sheepsfoot and spearpoint models. It's a few years ago, but he might have some left. You can email him at str@bladeforums.com

He was selling them for $90.

They do have one being sold on that south American river site but they are on par with M-Tec and the such. You would have o wait a bit but maybe Glennbad could help you out.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Ill email str and keep searching the net. Worst case scenario, i have a perfectly useable knife in my pocket right now.
