Hey everyone,

I'm in search of the spyderco knife with the Arc Lock and un-assisted opening. Pardon me if I sound like a newby, I've been getting into knives more and would like to buff up my collection. Please respond with helpful info. Thanks!

Arc Lock? You mean like the Arc Lock on SOGs? If so then I think your only option would be the Manix 2.

I think you're thinking of a SOG, not a Spyderco. SOG makes the Arc lock, and all Spydercos are unassisted.

As others have stated, SoG makes the Arc lock and I have no real advice concerning them. If you are looking for a Spyderco, I would urge you to look long and hard at the Paramilitary 2. I'm actually not as much a fan of it as many are, but it's hard to get more knife for the money. If you are looking for something similar to the Arc lock, I would encourage you to look at Benchmade's Axis lock models. It is, superficially, similar to the Arc lock (actually, the Arc lock is similar to it) but, IMO, much better thought out and constructed. Check out the 710, 530, 275 and 940. All are good, solid knives and hopefully one of them will fit your criteria. Other Spydercos to look at are the aforementioned Manix 2 and Manix 2 XL, Yojimbo 2 and Superleaf. Hope this helped.

The lock Spyderco uses that you are thinking of is the Ball-bearing lock. The above mentioned Manix uses this lock & is a nice knife. I also suggest you look at the Spyderco D'Allara with a Drop-point blade.
