Hi I am a freshman in traditional pocket knives . Recently I am choosing a classic pockec knife (I mean, ah,the classic in classics).

"The one" should be like this:

1, Stainless blades and springs. I live in Miami so it must be stainless .

2, No clip or bowie point in main or second blade. (Kind of my taste :P )

3, The main blade is either Pen or Wharcliffe . And only one bigger main blade, so a Trapper or Mukrat is not ok.

4, Not longer than 3.5' but nor too short when closed ( I need a handy one but not too big to carry in pocket)

5, Rounded ends and straight handle.( Exp, GEC cigar ends knives)

6, A case tuxedo may match but one with a main and a second blade (and lone pull) on same end of handle is better!

I just do not like the style of Case , though I ordered a Swayback Gent which is on way.

Besides some spydercos I had a Queen tear drop and some SAKs, but these are not fully match my tastes. And I realy love GEC's shape ( drive mr carzy! ) but their stainless series offer few options for me ----------- the EZ opener's handle is too short for its width (But 3' closed in a slim shape is ok) and conductors have clip points ( they dont offer stainless pen blade version..) , and the newly melon tester is too long. Others go too far.

How I wish GEC may introduce some models of NorthField or Tidioute into their stainless line :(

I searched ebay for hundred times and months and as you see I got none.

So I come for help and hope to get the answer here.

Thank you :)

Case makes a jack knife that's 3 3/8 round bolsters stainless blades it's called a working mans knife. Try a sodbuster jr.. It's a great Ulitarian pattern.

You could look at the Queen Large Balloon Jack
It is too bad you're limiting to only stainless. You'd have a wider variety to pick from if you would do carbon. And with little maintenance carbon will stay stain free.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Well I just cant be with the way of Case, except the Sway Backs.

And yes ,it is a bad restriction of "stainless" and I am ready to give it up after I looking through the 85 series of GEC ( Bullet end Jack) again and again.

Here is a question about that Jack:

There are bullet end Jack with EZ open or a second blade. The point is that I heard GECs have quite strong spings so maybe it would be hard to open ,espcially when I pick one with a secondary blade and without EZ open cut. But the seconary blade is really useful to me in daily tasks.

Which one shall I pick?

White Owl with Spear master might suit you.I think they're terrific knives, equal end and single spring, just the right size too.

I admit, i'd like them even more if GEC made them in their stainless. Let's hope they will.

Case has a mini copperhead with wharncliffe main, pen secondary and it's 3 1/8". Also stainless steel.

Hello sir,

You should take the "( I am not picky but .........)" part out of your post. Hehehe just kidding brother, i know exactly the position you are in right now. It took me a while to find the perfect knife for myself too.

I found myself getting all excited to post a knife i had in mind for you, only to be shot down when i realized it was either in carbon steel, or the size was wrong.

So i know you live in Miami, but taking care of a carbon steel knife is not as bad as its made out to be. Now i'm not a jehovah witness and im not trying to convert you to carbon steel, but i have a couple perfect knives in mind for you if you would be willing to reconsider your steel type (all other parameters withstanding).

Let me know if this could possibly be an option, worst that can happen is you look at the knife and say "no".

regards,
dre
