What's up guys, need some suggestions.

I'm looking for a stone to keep in my field sharpening kit, something pocket stone sized or similar.

I currently have a diamond sharpener for repairs, but also use a spyderco double stuff for maintenance. Can get very sharp blades with the double stuff.

What im specifically looking for is something finer than the fine spyderco ceramic.

Thought about black or translucent arkansas, but don't want to carry oil.

Thought about extra extra fine diamond, but I like to use the edge of the ceramics for recurves, don't know if that's possible with a diamond sharpener.

Any suggestions?

Definitely thought about that one, but its a bit too large. Would like to stay about the same size as the double stuff or a little smaller. (5x1, 4x1, etc)

How about an ultra fine sharpmaker stone, only bout 20 bucks and you can use the flats.

I may end up doing that. Any idea how I would go about cutting down the larger ceramic stone to a smaller size?

Ive looked at many different stones and can't help but feel like im overlooking something.

I dont but I am sure that so e one here or Spyderco could tell you.

If you find out and decide to do it, look me up as I might be interested in a piece of an ultra fine stone sl maybe we can work something out. :)

Ill ask spyderco tomorrow.

If they can't tell me ill just try using an axe.

Im positive that will work out well.
