Looking for a Super Slingshot...
Well that may be a bit of an overstatement.
Some years ago there was a company who made a Compound Slingshot. It was made like a Compound Bow but it was a slingshot. Had a standard pouch which was removable and coud be replaced with a straight piece capable of launching small arrows. The arrows had a notch todards the tip that was hooked on the band and was drawn back by holding the end of the arrow.
Looked way cool and seemed to be very usable.
Could never afford one back then and now that I finally can I can't find one anywhere.
Any suggestions:confused:
This might help me eliminate the Squirrel who has been raiding Momma's garden as of late

the best way to go for a powerful slingshot is to roll your own... Check out the slingshot channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/JoergSprave

if you want to make a "sling bow" check out dave canterbury's version:

I've made a couple slingshots now using the flatbands that are talked about a lot on the slingshot channel, and I'll tell you what.. you can smoke a .44 cal lead ball through a critter at about 20 feet and it won't even know what hit it.

go for Hunter catapult - compact and powerful

I just like the ones with the arm brace. They are formidible weapons. Some of them have high tech sights on them even. I have never used those.

these are my 2 favorite's as of late... a PS-1 and PS-2, both made by Perry A. over at www.aplusslingshots.com these things are sweet shooters... they're extremely accurate...

Ckeck out Mike Snody's "Blingshot" at Snodyworld.com or look them up on Youtube.com I think they come in wood or G10.

He said he's making some sweet T6 ones for the holidays too.

They look awesome.

I am a little bit of a slingshot addict, I have had a slingshot close by for almost 40 years and have taken quite a bit of game with them, many, many birds and rabbits. I have tried all kinds and my favorite is the old standard folding wrist brace, "Wrist Rocket" style. I use the newer tapered bands and 45 caliber lead balls that I cast myself out of scrap lead. This combo will reliably take rabbits and birds as far as I can hit them, 20 yards or so, the largest animal I have taken was a feral housecat.

I have never attempted to shoot arrows out of a slingshot. If you made a slingshot with an arrow rest and shot full length arrows I would give it a try but no way I would draw a broadhead tipped arrow past my hand, seems a good way to get badly hurt. Chris

Was the house cat kill in self defense?

Okay, I was just checking. It's always nice when they tell you that they are feral.

Seen any crying little girls in the neighborhood calling for Trixie lately?

That's what little girls get for letting their cat run around and destroy the songbird and small game population, keep it inside or it will disappear. Chris

Are you competing with the neighborhood house cats?

You yourself admitted to destroying the songbird and small game population with a slingshot.

That looks like a really trick set up but I have to wonder if you would get some really wacky arrow flight from drawing it slightly different each time. It seems to me that keeping your anchor consistant and slightly moving your other hand would make the arrows shoot to different points. Anyone with any real world knowledge? Chris
